Caperdonich G&M Connoisseurs Choice1999 Caperdonich Distillery was located in the town of Rothes. Built in 1897 it was originally known as Glen Grant Number 2. When the distillery was rebuilt in 1965, it was renamed Caperdonich, meaning “the secret well”.
The distillery closed in 2002.
This particular expression from Gordon & MacPhail was matured in a Refill Sherry Butt. The whisky is light and fruity with tropical fruit aromas and subtle herbal notes. On the palate hints of chilli spice initially, followed by soft fruit flavours- ripe bananas with a creamy milk chocolate finish.
