Description
Created due to a unique set of circumstances when back in 2007 a broken down boiler resulted in a batch of wash being distilled after 3 weeks fermentation as opposed to the normal 72 hours.
So Ardbeg being Ardbeg and never being afraid to experiment with their own product, Ardbeg Fermutation was born. Matured for 13 years in first fill and refill bourbon casks.
The resulting whisky is fresh, floral and herby with a zesty, citrusy fruitfulness on the nose. Add a splash of water and heavy oily tar notes arrive softening to a yeasty warming bread aroma.
The palate is complex with zesty, warming and medicinal wit a subtle sweet smoky finish.
